Pink Poodles in Paris

If you have not entered your paper craft at My Grafico Crafts...it is not too late. The theme for Challenge #128 is BLAST OFF! This does not mean that your project need to be a space theme. Think creatively!!!!

One winner will receive this cute space digital kit from Kelly Medina Studios

The design team came up with some creative ideas to share with you.  This kit has so many possibilities and we all had a great time playing with it! last week, I posted a card that I had made using this digital kit.( You can see it in a former post.) Well, I had another amazing idea, so I chose to use it again in designing a card for my grandson's 13th birthday. Yes, he really is 13 and he says that he indeed feels older now!!!

This a a slanted easel card.
Here is the side view.
Materials Used:

Image: My Grafico Crafts
Bright circular cardstock: Office Max
Coloring: space ship-copic markers;
blast off-Gelly Roll Pens;
dots on the bright green and stars on the sentiment- Gelly Roll Glitter Pen
Happy Birthday stamp:CTMH
Glitter: Martha Stewart
Black Cardstock and gold dots: Michael's

This was really an easy card to create. He was intrigued by the card design!!! That's a lot from a teenage boy LOL.

This week, the digital set was equally charming. I had so much fun with this set too.
http://www.mygrafico.com/illustrations-c
Here is the Stair Step Card that I designed using this set:
Isn't this just the cutest? I could have added more bling but I wanted to show how easy it is to make a card by just using the elements in the kit. The directions for this Stair Step Card can be found on Splitcoast Stampers.  I chose to add a pink and black awning to the shop, added a name to the "tea room," placed the poodle in the window and added 'Let's Make a Date' to the pink tag.

Materials used:
Images: My Grafico Crafts
Cardstock, yarn, DP, rhinestones, flower: Michael's
Punch: Martha Stewart
Sentiments: Computer Generated

Here is a side view of this card.

I am sure that you have been thinking of someone and missing them!! How about getting together soon. I hope that I have inspired you to create a Stair Step Card, they are super easy. Perhaps you will want to make a card to show someone that you care about them? If   I have inspired you, please let me know. I would love to visit your blog.
Thank you for taking the time to stop and visit. I hope that you will consider leaving a message and /or following this blog. Have a wonderful week. Enjoy the lovely spring weather.

Precious Friends

We want to thank all of you who joined us in our last challenge at Lexi's Creations: Ribbon and Lace. We had so many marvelous entries. If you are curious about the lucky winner, just click HERE.
Now we are ready for another challenge: Black, White and one other color. This may be easy for some of you and for some 'colorful' bloggers this just might be a challenge. Remember just one other color in addition to black and white. I chose to use the daisy digital stamp and the supplemental color is silver.
This shows the front of my card. I use several different sizes of this Spellbinders die. then distressed the flower layer. All of the layers were placed in increasing size and placed on black distressed cardstock. The cardstock was also distressed with silver ink. I added texture to the daisy using flocking powder on the leaves and stickles to the center of the flower.
Here is the inside of my card with this precious sentiment. It was also cut from the same Spellbinders die and edged with a silver paint pen. This black cardstock was also distressed with silver before adding the sentiment.  Notice that stickles was added to the butterfly.

Materials Used:
Image and Sentiment: Lexi's Creations
Cardstock and DP: Michael's
Silver ink, ribbon and paint pen:Michael's

Thank you for visiting this blog.I hope that you enjoyed looking at my papercrafts and that I have inspired you to think "outside the box." The design team came up with some  very creative ideas to share with you.  This kit has so many possibilities and we all had a great time playing with it! Take a peek HERE and let yourself be "inspired".

This is such a "fun" digital kit. I made a birthday card for this post but have several other projects planned. So, stop back later in the week :)

This card photographs a little dark. In natural light it is quite sparkly. I copied the alien and the planet on green and yellow card stock respectively, then fancy cut them. The stars are from CTMH, stamped on blue with gold ink then cut out. The sentiment is also a CTMH stamp.
This is the inside of the card, which makes it so unique. The sentiment is computer generated and the star is CTMH.

Hugs and kisses

Challenge #127 Mother's Days

The current challenge at My Grafico Crafts (#127) is Mother's DayThis challenge runs until May 11th. You still have plenty of time to craft a spectacular Mom's Day project and post it on our blog HERE
The design team has some beautiful Mother's day cards to share with you. Just click HERE to be inspired:)

My next project (card) was inspired by this jar image. I had to ponder what to put into the jar that was a bit unusual. Mind you, I had some other unique ideas: bugs, chocolate, soap, buttons but they just didn't inspire me. I had been thinking about a friend who's husband is deployed and how difficult it is for her and their two sons. I called and asked her if I could make a Father's Day card for the boys to send to their Dad. She was delighted. Here is my card:

The jar holds "hugs and kisses"! I found military DP and an Army tag. The ribbon of course is Yellow...waiting for his return.

This is the inside of the card:

Coincidentally, the distressed ink just happened to look Army Green! I left plenty of space for each of them to write a short note.

Once I had the idea, this was an easy card. I could not find individual camouflage DP so I purchases a kit. The kit included the Army tag, the gold button, Military DP, and several military related words.
The sentiments were computer generated. Although you may not see it in the picture, the jar has a clear plastic overlay to make it shiny. I adhered it with the yellow ribbon.

All my supplies were purchased at our local Michael's.
The image is from My Grafico Crafts.

I hope your have enjoyed visiting this blog. Are you inspired to create a Mother's Day and/or Father's Day card? If you have the time, please enter the current challenge. I would love it if you left me a comment and/or followed this blog. Here's hoping that you have a wonderful week and please take a little time to do something that you love to do.

Happy Mother's Day

Another Monday and a new challenge at My Grafico Crafts: Mother's Day. Make a card and/or paper craft project to celebrate Mother's Day. Here is my DT project:
When I received this precious verse, I knew that I had to include some material on this card. This is my first time using burlap as an embellishment. As the clerk was cutting it, she pulled out long threads which, of course, I asked for and hence used in creating the flower along with ribbon and a vintage button. The same ribbon was used to weave through the vintage lace. A butterfly was cut from DP then liquid glass was added to make it shiny and sturdier. The stitch frame was enhanced with a yellow gelly roll pen.The edges of both the sentiment and polka dot DP were distressed with green stamp pad ink.

Here is the inside of the Mother's Day card. The cupcake has some paper piecing on the heart as well as the base. The "frosting" appears shiny with the help of liquid glass. The flower on the bottom right is cut from DT. I added a square to the base of this card so that a note could be written. A punch added the scallops and burlap string was woven through then tied in a bow. You might notice that the edges of the polka dot paper were also punched with a scallop die. The edges of the square and the Mother's Day sentiment were distressed with green ink also.

This picture shows how simple it is to make a pop up card! This DP package has some beautiful florals and coordinates. I just love it!!

Materials:
DP: K and Company
Burlap: JoAnn Fabrics
Ribbon: Michael's

I know there are many details on this card but I had so much fun being creative!! Isn't that what challenges are for? Thank you for stopping to visit today. I hope that I have inspired you to create something special for a loving lady in your life. Perhaps you will find that burlap adds an interesting dimension to your paper crafts. Maybe you will want to make a pop up card? Splitcoast Stampers has a wonderful tutorial for a much more difficult pop up card but it will give you some inspiration. Please feel free to leave a comment and let me know your thoughts and/or follow this blog. When you have completed your project, just click HERE to enter it. Best wishes for a wonderful week. Hope to see you again next week.

Ballerina Trio

Today I am posting my first challenge for Lexi's Creations as a Design Team Member!!! I am very excited to be working with such a remarkable team. Their images are just precious. I had forgotten how much I missed coloring!! (Must be the kid in me!) The challenge for the next two weeks is Lace and Ribbons This challenge will run until May 14, 2012. Our sponsor for this challenge is: Crop Stop.

Lace and Ribbons are my  favorite two embellishments so I was thrilled!  This image is called: Ballerina Trio from: Fairy Dust Crafts.
This card is called a " Fancy Cut Pocket Card." I cut two green cardstock shapes using a Spellbinders die. On the front cardstock, two ribbons were attached and taped on the back. Then the two green CS were glued  together, on the edges only. ( I found that a tape runner was not quite strong enough so I used the heavy red tape, from Michael's.) Be sure to leave an opening for a sentiment on one end;) A smaller shape encompassed the three darling ballerinas.(Notice that the foot, on the far left ballerina extends beyond the cut shape of the die:) I colored the girls using copic markers, enhanced the ruffles, dotted their tunics and colored their ballet slippers with a glitter gelly roll pen. Next, I distressed the edges using green stamp pad ink. I found some pieces of vintage lace, gathered them with needle and thread and sewed them onto the white CS. The Dance quote was printed from the computer, cut and glued onto ribbon, then adhered  to the green CS with a pink brad.

The second sentiment was computer generated, also cut with a Spellbinders die. A hand punch was used to punch a hole on the end of the sentiment and a ribbon was attached.
This seems like a lot of work, but I love the results. It is the embellishments that add the perfect finish. What do you think?

Thank for stopping to visit. I hope you enjoyed my original (I think) designed card. I hope that I have inspired you to "think outside the box" and create you own special card.  Gather you lace and ribbons and create your masterpiece. When you are finished just click HERE to enter your project at Lexi's Creations.  Please feel free to leave a comment, I love hearing your thoughts, and/or follow this blog. Have a wonderful week and don't forget to find some time to do something special that makes you happy.

Love.Trees.Birds. Happy Anniversary

At My Grafico, this week we are showcasing a very lovable set of images called Love, Trees & Birds, created by Baby Star Designs. This set too has so many possibilities. I chose to design an anniversary card.

This is the front cover on my tri fold card. I wanted to keep it simple to show that a thoughtful card can be done quickly and easily.
Lift up the front flap and this is what you will see.

Now fold down the front flap and this is the inside.
The tri fold card was made from black card stock. All the images were printed on white card stock. I added the red ribbon and the computer generated sentiment along with the button brad.  All the materials used can be found at Michael's Craft Store.

I must admit that it took me awhile to decide on an idea. The rest is so simple. (I hope that my husband will enjoy this card...sh.sh.sh.)

Now that I have inspired you to create a CAS (Clean and Simple) card, what are you waiting for?

You can enter your creations for the current challenge FUN AND GAMES until Friday, April 27th at midnight HERE.  Plenty of time to play along.  One winner will receive this set: Viva Las Vegas by JW Illustrations.

It is Monday and time again for our next My Grafico Crafts  Challenge.

You can enter your projects for this challenge until Friday, April 27th at midnight.  Plenty of time to play along!  One winner will receive this set: Viva Las Vegas by JW Illustrations.

This set has so many possibilities. I chose to make a card for a very special couple.
I can't be there to give them a hug but I can send a hand crafted card :)

Can you see the bling on the girl's left hand?

Here is the inside of this card.

Once I had the idea in mind, this was such an easy card to make. I used a Spellbinder's die to cut out the card shape in red and a smaller die to cut out the white CS. Silver glitter paper was used beneath the white CS and the edges were distressed with silver ink.Martha Stewart red glitter was used on the girl's dress and hair clip to give her just a little "sparkle." The sentiment on the cover as well as the inside were computer generated. The ribbon for the bow and the feathers were from Michael's.

We can't wait to see your awesome Fun & Games projects.  Remember only link the post containing your project, don't link to your entire blog.  Don't forget to link back to MyGrafico HERE. Here's the Scoop

I hope all of you had a delightful Easter/Passover.  Our weather was beautifully sunny albeit a little chilly. After our mild winter and very early spring, we seem to forget that this is only early April! Our feature this week will have you looking forward to warmer summer temperatures – Sweet and Yummy Ice Cream Clip Art by Riefka Designs. This set includes 8 graphic elements of Sweet and Yummy Ice Cream. Perfect for your craft project, scrap booking, invitation, web design, paper product, design card and everything else. This set is normally only $1, but April 11-13th this set will be 50% off! To view the marvelous paper crafts that our design team created, using these images, just click HERE.

I chose to design a pocket card:

Here is the inside of the pocket card. This is where you would write your note.
Using the designer images from MyGrafico, makes this a super easy project. I love the fact that the images are precolored! The card design can be found on the Splitcoast Stampers site. After folding the pocket card, I lined the inside of the pocket. The cone was fussy cut and layered on CS then on matching DP. The "scoops" were also fussy cut and popped up for dimension. The jelly roll glitter pen was used for highlighting. On the front you can see the punched DP that I wove yellow ribbon through.

Materials used:
Images: My Grafico
Papers: Michael's
Punch: ek
Ribbon and jewels: from my treasure of unused supplies!

Easter Candy

Welcome to a new week at My Grafico Crafts!  Our theme for our current challenge is Easter or Spring. Entries will be accepted until March 30th, midnight.  We have a wonder feature this week – Easter Candy and Cakes set by Cupcake Cutiees Designs. Our design team has come up with some great ideas using this set. Take a look HERE.

I will certainly be using this set many time in the next few weeks! Here is my DT post:

Inside:

The card front as well as the inside left of this card, are actually note cards that I have had for awhile. I used a Stampin Up stamp for the clear bag and the jelly beans. First, I stamped the acetate with Staz On brown ink, then fancy cut it. I also stamped this bag on white cardstock then randomly stamped jelly beans. The jelly beans and bow were colored with Copic Markers.  I fancy cut the bunnies and pasted them over the jelly beans. To attach this acetate bag, I punched tiny holes on each side of the bow and threaded the pink ribbon then tied in into a bow. The inside sentiment was computer generated.

Materials used:
Note Cards, Ribbons: Michael's
DP: From my used paper treasures!
Images: My Grafico, Stampin Up

This was such a fun card to make and so easy too! I was happy to be able to use materials that I already had. Look into your unused treasures and you will be surprised what you can use!! (I file my larger pieces of DP in a large accordion file folder). I found that using the Four Seasons as titles as well as one section that includes: graduation, wedding and babies works for me. I would love for you to share your organization tips too.
Thanks for visiting. I hope that I inspired you to create an Easter/Spring card. When you have completed your paper craft project, just click HERE to enter the current challenge at My Grafico Challenges.
